Following a settlement between Mr C. Gibson and The Honourable The Irish Society, the Society acknowledges that Mr Gibson, his heirs, assigns and successors in title, is the owner of the fishing rights on that portion of the river at Carrick East. This fishing right includes the 'sand bed' below the top weir.

Following representations from a group of concerned anglers, the Directors of R. A. Ltd. approached Carrickmore and secured an annual lease to allow Roe Angling members to fish the 'sand bed'.
